Overview

Bladder augmentation, or augmentation cystoplasty, is a surgical procedure to increase the size of the bladder. It's used in patients with severe bladder dysfunction, including neurogenic bladder, to increase storage capacity and prevent incontinence. During surgery, a portion of the intestine is used to expand the bladder, allowing for better control and improved bladder function.
